The Governor Hotel added a west wing in 1923 to accommodate the Portland Elks Club, and took its architectural guidance from the Farnese Palace in Rome. Dining includes Jake's Grill, which showcases a brass-and-mahogany bar, carved wooden columns, historic photos and mounted wild game. The Dome Room features an eight-foot, stained-glass domed ceiling. Jake's Grill serves seafood, steaks and specialty desserts. Starbucks serves coffee specialties on site. A lobby kiosk with wireless Internet access and 14,000 square feet of banquet and meeting space accommodate traveling professionals and celebratory parties.
